To Give You Some Perspective

Evergreen’s history with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and its current relationships with churches of all denominations are important! In 1959, the ministry of Evergreen began with the vision of few faithful parents, pastors, and elders in the Presbyterian Synod of Louisiana. Over fifty years ago, the Synod was looking for a new outlet through which to express the faith and compassion of its members. Today, many churches have come on-board to support the vision of Evergreen.

The faith community has supported Evergreen’s vision by joining together to serve, provide for, and champion individuals with disabilities. Evergreen is equally committed to helping the faith community reach out and embrace this special and unique group of people. Evergreen is also committed to supporting clients as they express their individual spirituality through involvement with the faith community of their choice.

Evergreen seeks to build relationships with churches by:

Asking churches to provide a place of worship for the individuals we serve.
Encouraging churches to serve as Shepherd Churches.
Exploring the possibilities of sharing Evergreen’s ministry with congregations through:
Mission presentations
Speaking engagements at church gatherings
Setting up informational tables at:

1. Special gatherings, including women/men gatherings and retreats
2. Mission meetings or church fairs

Churches support Evergreen by:

Budgeted Mission Support

Individuals with special needs have greatly benefited from churches that have included Evergreen in their budget. Churches may give yearly, quarterly or monthly through a budgeted donation giving plan. An Evergreen representative will gladly assist you in planning your budgeted donation. Designated Giving

Gifts may be designated to the Client Needs Fund for a division of your choice. Please respond as generously as possible and know that 100 percent of your contributions will go directly to the Client Needs Fund.

Grants

You may donate to Evergreen through a grant program. Evergreen has a grant writer who is available to assist you with questions regarding grants.
