Thanks to the Bishop Stanley Joseph Ott Works of Mercy Trust Fund, the Diocese of Baton Rouge, the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, and the online resource, Everyone Ready, Evergreen Life Services will offer volunteer management training to churches, synagogues, service organizations, and civic-minded businesses across Southeast Louisiana from June 2018-2019. Participants will learn the latest in best practices, in order to design support for the people with disabilities Evergreen serves through its day program, community homes, and fundraising activities.
On Saturday, November 3, Evergreen’s Community Outreach Committee will host a training workshop at its Ponchatoula office. Committee members will share what they have learned with participants, so they will be equipped to recruit and to manage volunteers for Evergreen support in their own communities. A variety of planning and informational materials will be provided free of charge. Additional memberships in the Everyone Ready online training program will also be available. Registration and workshop details will be available in September.
Evergreen’s Works of Mercy Summer Semester online training and downloadable materials for June – August 2018 will include: Building the Foundation for Volunteer Involvement; Challenges and Obstacles to Volunteer Involvement: Your FAQs; OUR Volunteers: The Management Team Approach to Enhancing Volunteer Engagement; The Principles of Volunteer Management: No Matter What Your Job Title; Educating Up: Gaining Executive Support for Volunteer Engagement; Building and Sustaining Strong Volunteer Leadership; Middle Managers: Their Vital Role in Volunteer Success; Focus on the Volunteer Program Manager: A Task Analysis of the Role and Significant Issues; New Approaches to Recruitment, Interviewing, Screening and Placing Volunteers; and Designing Work for Today’s Volunteers.
