Need Help?

Ponchatoula, LA, March 29, 2018 – The residents at Evergreen Life Service’s Colonel Allen Court community home in Baton Rouge need a new wheelchair van. Safe, reliable transportation is crucial, if Colonel Allen’s residents are to continue vital programs so important to their health and well-being. To meet this need, Evergreen has launched a year-long appeal to fund the new van, hosting a series of house parties and community fundraisers throughout its Southeast Louisiana Division.

The first community fundraiser will be held in conjunction with the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s GiveNOLA day, which will take place May 1 through its GiveSELA website at www.givenola.org/givesela. This is the second year Evergreen Life Services has participated in GiveNOLA Day, which is a 24-hour online giving event, organized by GNOF to ignite the giving community in Southeast Louisiana.

This year GiveSELA donations may be scheduled early from Tuesday, April 24 through Monday, April 30, midnight to midnight, especially for those supporters who cannot participate on May 1. Funds raised on behalf of Evergreen will go to reimburse costs for the new van, which is in the process of being purchased and customized.

Evergreen is fortunate that a caring family member and her husband stepped up and made a generous $10,000 down payment to launch the 2018 van appeal, which has an overall goal of $50,000. Their thoughtful leadership will help, not only their beloved relative, but also Colonel Allen’s other residents to continue their day program training, where they learn, gain new skills, and even get a job!

Corporate sponsorships and major gift options are available and offer the donor a variety of benefits. For more information, please contact Constance Anderson, M.Ed. Director for Donor Relations Evergreen Life Services, SE Louisiana, (225) 337-3460, [email protected]
